You may choose to add a daycare pass to not have your pet kenneled during their grooming appointment. We are however appointment base so we will contact you 15 minutes before your pet's groom is complete to avoid a kennel.
All of our bathing products are all natural, dye free and slufate free.
Every groom will come with the following come standard for any option:
You will be contacted 15 minutes before your pet's groom is complete.
You will then have 1 hour for pick up, they will be kenneld during this time.
It is recommneded you book a daycare pass if you need to leave them for a longer period of time and your grooming appointment will be set towards the end of the daycare session to ensure a clean pup at pick up.
Your groomer will evaluate your dog pre and post bath, there are times where light matting can be brushed out.
If your dog's coat is past the point of brushing we will reach out and advise you that we will have to go short and provide post grooming insturctions and action plan to achieve the desired coat length.
Groomers are scheduled on an appointment basis. We ask that you let us know asap when your not able to arrive to your grooming appointment.
You may cancel up to 24 hours prior to your appointment at no cost.
Appointments canceled or rescheduled within 24 hours will be charged %50 of the grooming cost in order to rebook with Barkington again in the future.
Due to complete loss of appointment and no communication, you will be charged %100 of the grooming cost for No Call No Show incidences. We understand life happens, just communicate with our staff and we can find a solution.
We take all breeds, sizes and age groups and have specialty groomer with the proper bacground and education to handle senior pets.
There may be times when a second groomer is needed to assist with the grooming to ensure a safe and stress free environment
On average please see times below for grooming sessions, it will very depending on coat length, condition, dog's size and grooming frequency. Once we have developed a consistent grooming routine we can narrow down the window times.
Grooming frequency varies from coat type and desired hair length.
On average pets are groomed every 8 weeks.
You may go longer in betweens grooms if you keep a shorter coat and just come in for baths.
More frequent grooms are needed to keep a longer coat over 2 inches, unless you have a good brushing and combing schedule at home.
Your groomer will develop an action plan after your first visit.

Yes! All of our pet professionals go through an extensive federal background check process.
For the safety of your pet, employees and public we require rabbies, distemper and bordatella vaccinations prior to booking first appointment.
We work together as a team! We always send one of our managers to your New Client Consultation and they will introduce your pets to any of our team members who will be caring for your pets. You may request additional consultations as needed for the price of our 30 minute drop-in visits.

Does your pup love the park? Or maybe they prefer a nature trail and a puppacino? It’s up to you where we go on our doggie field trips!
We charge a 50% cancellation fee if canceling within 12 hours of a dog walk or single drop-in visit, or within 72 hours of an “out of town” stay (live-in care, overnight care, series of drop-in visits). We do not offer any refunds for services canceled within 10 days of a holiday.
We have plans in place for every situation and have built relationships with local veterinarians and other local businesses to ensure your pet’s safety, health, and happiness.
We suggest submitting requests for pet sitting for while you are out of town around a month ahead, and requests for dog walks a week ahead. We always encourage planning as far in advance as possible as our schedules do fill up each day
We currently service Glen Ellyn, Lombard, Carol Stream and Wheaton, Illinois. We are adding Naperville, Lisle, Aurora, and Downers Grove, Joing out mailing list to get updates.
Services are not confirmed until full payment has been submitted. All clients are automatically enrolled in AutoPay which will charge the card on the clients account at 11pm the day that we approve the request. Clients may opt-out of AutoPay, however they will be responsible for manually submitting payment upon approval of the request.
We require all clients to utilize lockboxes for us to gain access to the home. You may provide your own lockbox or purchase one from us. If your neighborhood will not allow lockboxes, we ask for two key copies.
We operate on a two hour window to account for traffic, weather, last minute requests, and other things that come up throughout our day. This means that if Time to Pet shows your visit scheduled at noon, we will arrive sometime between 11am and 1pm. We will guarantee a tighter window for pets with medical needs such as diabetic pets who get insulin.
